Was actually on the way to SurfStang's today when I started to lose my clutch. By the time I was in his driveway, there was a lot of knocking and a hot metal smell.

Tried to nurse it home but got about 100 feet before I lost my clutch and there was lots of smoke billowing from the hood.

Throwout bearing broke and/or siezed, clutch pedal feels very stiff and there's a horrendous metallic grinding (probably the bearing) when the car is running.

So got it towed home, obviously.

Now I get to add the clutch, flywheel, cable, throwout bearing, etc. to the "to do list" along with selling it after it's done.

I'm sick and tired of old, high mile cars that constantly need attention. If I end up not selling it, it'll be the "toy" and I'm going to look for something within a few years old and practical.

How hard is a driveway clutch job?

Noticed on the way to work today (driving the Jeep) that I started to get a new shake at 60-65mph. Completely out of the blue.

Figured something was breaking, but was close to work so I just went about my day as normal.

Forgot about it by the time I left... jumped on 31 and was quickly reminded of the shake, which was now getting worse.

Decided to pull over to make sure my lugs were tight and that I didn't see anything obviously wrong. Everything was good...

Get back on the road, shaking is now accompanied by "FLAP FLAP FLAP FLAP".

Well, at that point... I had known what happened. Right rear tire tread had began to separate right in the center. Wire was torn and the tire was very close to blowing out.

Lucky for me I had no spare or jack, so I waited on AAA to give me a lift home and now I'm looking for a set of tires (eventually)...:loltard:

Don't buy tires off of Craigslist at night in the rain, it's hard to see what condition they're really in until the next day..:(

At 28 years old, until today, I had never shot a gun before. My wife and I are in Baltimore for the week visiting family. Ashley ran across a Living Social deal for the local shooting range. We each got 50 rounds with a Ruger 9mm. They showed us the basics and let us have at it. We really enjoyed ourselves. We have been thinking about taking gun safety classes lately so this was our first step.

I have been experiencing "stress fractures", hairline cracks in my paint , behind the rear side window along the roof pillar! Body man told me my car was too long, lol!! Supposely the car is "twisting" under hard accellaration(I have no idea what he is talking about). He said subframe connectors would remedy this problem. My question is...to I go with bolt on or weld on? I do not race this car, so that is not a factor, the bolt on are about half the price, plus I can install them myself. What is some of you all's opinion or experience? i want to get this done soon so sound off soon. It won't make no sense to repair the paint w/o added the connectors first. Thx in advance.

For music discussion in general. What do you like, who have you seen live?

I'll start, but there's no particular direction this has to go.

Favorite band: Foo Fighters, hands down. Seen them live twice and both have been amazing, but the most recent (Charlotte, November 8th 2011) was stellar. Almost 3 hours of play. I've followed them since I was a kid.

Bands I've seen in concert (definitely not all of them):
Foo Fighters (x2)
Ted Nugent (x2 or 3)
Skynyrd (new Skynyrd, obviously)
Black Label Society (x3)
Trivium
Black Sabbath (during the '05 Ozzfest reunion)
DOWN (former Pantera and Corrosion of Conformity and EyeHateGod members)
Disturbed (x2)
Hootie and the Blowfish
The Temptations
The Marshall Tucker Band
Saliva
Theory of Deadman
Audiovent
Shadows Fall (x2)
38 Special (seriously, probably 5 times)
Metallica
Godsmack (x2 or 3)
Dropbox
ECHO-7 (local band)
TRUSTcompany
RA
Korn (for 2-3 songs, haha)
Machinehead
Shinedown (x2)
SUM41 (lol)
No Doubt (after they went mainstream... haha)
Default (x2... I think. Got to meet them)
Queens of the Stoneage (got to meet - total assholes, seriously)
Nappy Roots
Lamb of God (3-4 songs worth)
In Flames

blah blah blah. I'm well versed in concerts. I can enjoy any band live, but I like being a part of the raw music. That's how I survived Bonnie Raitt with my mom...:joy:

Want to see:
Coheed and Cambria
Pearl Jam
The Offspring and a bunch of others!
